Well, the piece of credit card I used to shim the trigger with popped off( that’s a first for me), so i’m back to the original trigger with the flat spring removed.I’ll fix it again, but for now, i’ve Gotten used to it as is. It’s still driving nails with the daisy flat nose pellets.Got 2 nice surprises with it while doing the final sight in at 20 yds. last night.I used 10 pumps for a .38” high at 20 yds. and dead on at 45 yds.I found 6 pumps to be .25” high at 20 and about dead on at 30 yds.Since 10 pumps is about 820 FPS. at the muzzle and 6 is only about 700 FPS. at the muzzle, I figured it would be at least a half inch low at 20 yds. on 6 pumps when sighted in for 10 pumps, but that was not the case..... Nice! The other surprise came when shooting off hand. I can actually hold on target better with the thumbhole stock offhand than the standard pistol grip like on the 880.Especially from a sitting, kneeling, or semi support, like leaning against a door jam, or tree limb, etc.I think i’m going to really like this stock for hunting!
For those of us that didn't know or forgot, here's a pic of the Winchester 1977XS. The 880 wannabe. Now you got my curiosity and I have to look for one. I found a new one on eBay for less than $112 out the door. Estimated to Be here next Tuesday.
This one was $84.48 plus tax & shipping. The cheapest price I could find. We don't have academy around here. But we do have Landmark & Tractor Supply. No car for runnin' around though.
So far, I have noticed that the 1977 has the stiffer arm, andit has replaced that &^*(##$@ "elastomer spring" on the piston rod wit an actual coil spring !! HOORAY !!!

It put a smile on my face with the first shot! It felt good in hand too. I think the thumbhole gives a steadier grip too? I'm gonna look up Winchester serial number meanings. Daisy wants you to send it to them and wait. F that.
