Thanks for the offer Bayman but it is a newer R9 with the front globe sight.
It has the inserts.Sorry I know there differant ones.
@ Ragboat ( George)... Have a look at a Centra sight riser set from Champions Choice. Here's a pic of front riser( rear mounts on dovetail @ rear ... Will raise both sights @ 8mm.
I have a Ural Number One (the first Ural) by USSR. It is similar to a CM-2 but not, as the Ural has 4 locking lugs in the bolt while the CM-2 has only the handle as the lock up.This adj. butt pad is the ticket for you, if you can get one to fit your buttstock!I posted a picture to Hector of the Ural and the photo shows you how that buttplate can go up or down.

Thanks for all the replays.Bayman I see from your last post that I am not the only one that has a problem with the high comb. The 8mm risers may be something that would work. I am using a Williams WGRS 54 sight mounted with a 4mm riserto make it work with the front sight with the inserts. I have a 8mm riser that I tried first but it was to high to workwith the front sight. When I have time I will try the 8mm on the rear sight and the 4mm on the front. That would raise them both 4mm which I think would be enough. The other thing I tried last night was taking off the butt bad, that seemed to help getting a better head position and having my eye lined up with the sights.
Thanks for all the replays and advice that has been given. The 8mm riser for the rear sight does get the rear sight at a height that does work better, but the risers that I havedo not fit the front dove tail so I am not able to make that work at this time.Taking the butt pad off gets my cheek a little forward on the comb which seems to narrow at the front and helps withthe sight alignment. I am going to check into cutting 1/2 or 3/4 of inch of the stock for now and then decide if I wantsand the comb down or not. I will post again when doing something but I move kind of slow so may be awhile.
