Quote from: Mackado on August 14, 2019, 06:41:00 AMGreat shooting Orion and Jake! and the video is excellent too, one of the shots you can see the pellet going through and into the canal. I believe the bird is Florida's Mockingbird, In the summer I see them all the time in my backyard hunting the grassy area for baby lizards (and adults too) feeding in the grass, mostly the invasive Brown Cuban anole, the Blue Jays do the same, but they dive from a branch into the grass when they spot the unlucky lizard.I also remember those nasty cuban gisasos(sand spurs)just when you think you pulled the last one off your socks, you find more! Octavio, This was the bird: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Common_Grackle/species-compare/67363921 was a female Grackle. I couldn't believe what I was watching, I'm glad tho, because in that canal I saw more than 200 baby iguanas, so hopefully not all will survive! Are you Cuban too? The Guizasos are the worst!

A little trick when dealing with Sand Spurs (Guizasos), before pulling them off your skin/clothes, lick your fingers. They won't stick to you fingers that way

Oh yes, females grackles, those guys kill and eat everything too, they used to visit my backyard many years ago, but for some reason they have almost disappeared from this neighborhood, only see a few here and there now. Yes I'm Cuban, I used to hunt Doves with airguns in the country-side back there when I was a 10-13 year old kid, and I always hated the Guizasos! (sand-spurs)
