AWESOME target JIMMY!!!!!

Thanks Ray, I saw where you plugged your pellet holes with pellets and figured I might better do mine?
I doubt I'll get another group like that one? Thanks for all your help with recommending turning the elevation turret, and scope work needed to make it happen.

Struggling at 50 yds with the Royale 500.
Gotta wait for some calm cool weather to go for the 100.
Shot 10 groups of 5 at 50 in calm wind, but minor breezes would sneak up on me.
Edgun brand Jsb 25 gr at roughly 900 fps

Caught an unexpected morning off with just enough time to run to the range and be back for afternoon activities.  I tried out some H&N Baracudas and had better luck with them than my usual JSBís.  I didnít have time to print more targets and had run out of color prints so I was using black and white by the time I got to shooting some JSBís.  It was SUPER hard to see where shots were landing in the black rings so I found myself shooting without any feedback for corrections which wasnít any fun.  Shoot 5 then wait for target retrieval to see where they went.

Nice morning, way better than work anyway.

Nice shootin' Blue, looks like a 47/50 w1x to me.
I've been wanting to shoot my .25 Royale at 100, but the weather just isn't cooperating.
Was hoping to add it and the .22 Cricket to the mix. I think this Sunday is the deadline to get em in?

Nice shootin' Blue, looks like a 47/50 w1x to me.

I know and I had to break out the Eagle Eye gauge and look up the rules on scoring shots before I posted.  That shot doesnít break the line but it touches the line (just barely) so itís a 9   :(. If the lines dividing the rings were just a little finer it might have been a different story.

If it was easy, it wouldnít be as satisfying when everything comes together

Wow, if you say so brother. What did you use to project the rings onto the target?

OK, you motivated me. I'm out on the back porch tonight with flashlight out there at 90 some yards shining on target at 106 yds. Sweaty nasty hot, done took my soaking wet T-shirt off. Took me a while because I didn't even have the scope dialed in for 100 yd shooting, so been doing a lot of walking back and forth to get my right zero.

I have to come inside during each 100 yd trip to wipe the sweat off and cool down enough to get my heart rate down. Best I've got with the Royale .25 is   47/50 w/1x and 2.09 ctc.

I'm struggling but gonna post what ever is the best even if that's the best. Cooling down as I type this for the next card! Would take pics but it's too dark out there. Hard enough to make sure I'm not loading pellets backwards? LOL

Be right back in a few.

I want to thank Mr. Blue for motivating me to get off my duff and get out there for this entry tonight. Don't have pictures of the set up because it was dark outside, but same set up as usual 106 yds standing rested off my back porch. I had a flashlight rested on a rear bag rested on a step ladder at the 100 yd mark illuminating the target for me. I'm out here in shorts with no shirt dripping soaking wet with sweat. Would have to come inside between cards and wipe down , cool off and get my heart rate down between groups.

Name........Jimmy Fussell
Airgun....FX Royale 500
Sights....Sightron SIII on 30 power
Pellet/Bullet ....JSB .25 cal 25.39 gr unsorted straight from the tin
Position....standing bench , front bipod, rear bag at 106 yds from back porch
Wind.....low wind....dripping sweat kinda hot at 9:00 pm at night
Score and Group Size..... 47/50 1x and 2.09 ctc

I don't know if it's just me, but this .25 cal seems to kick a little more than the .30 Boss? Gonna take some warming up to and figuring right hold? I think I can do better with my .22 Cricket, but that will have to be another day.

First target is entry and other two targets are just for giggles.

Whoops I did it again. Looks like the second target was the higher scoring target? Woke up this morning with a little clearer head?
It should have been a 48/50 at 1.62" ctc? Dummy me, entered the wrong card again! LOL

Wow, if you say so brother. What did you use to project the rings onto the target?

I use an Eagle Eye scoring gauge, I put the card from the company I got from in the first pic.  It has a bit of a lens on top for magnification and a set of etched rings on the bottom.  The single ring is for .177 the other is for .22 with a smaller centering ring for alignment.  Itís non destructive so you just place it on top of your target, align with a pellet hole and see where the edge of the pellet is in relation to the hole it made.

I've been using one for about 5years now. It takes the guess work out of scoring .177 & .22 targets. I actually like it better than using plugs. Easier to see for my old tired eyes ;D

Yes anything to make it easier on the eyes. I also like the way Mr. Ray puts the pellets in the holes for the pictures. I staple my targets to some pretty thick cardboard and the pellets seem to fit pretty snug when I get them back to the bench and plug them with the .25 cal and the .30 cal. pellets. Makes it easier to measure the ctc distance with them plugged as well.

Its been a busy summer.  We are trying to change our volunteer fire company from a membership to a tax based department, having to go door to door for the signatures to get the county to put it on the ballot.  Took a break from that today for this target.  Between that, building fence and more chicken houses there has not been much shooting beyond a few minutes at dusk now and then, no paper...
I shot my Marauder that I moded.
I wish I did better, but resting it on a bag on my dewalt saw stand is not the best base.  I will take this though.

47/50 @ 100 yards
.25 Marauder
JSB 25.39 @ 840fps
Crosman Scope
War Cobra Valve
JSAT SSG and hammer

Nice shooting Mark. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it looks like your score is 46/50. From the rules...."The shot must be
totally inside the ring to score that ring. If the shot touches the ring using a scoring gauge
or your best geusstimation it goes to the lower value(opposite of what is the norm)". We do that because the same target is used for all calibers and it equalizes the playing field.  The one shot that is close to the 10 ring looks like it's touching the ten ring which would make it a 9. Still a good target though.

No problem at all, and Iím sorry Marty I think I recall doing that the last time too.  Bet I get it right next time, and I even was thinking that walking down the hill target in hand.  All I can say is too many years scoring the other way.
Raining here today so I may rework the trigger on my mrod in between building gates.  I have not done the lawyer mod yet, choosing instead to just work on the firing system.
Also bought one of the Caldwell tables last night, canít wait for that to get here.

Nice shooting Mark. I get mixed up with the scoring as well. Marty will keep us straight!

Well the lawyer mod is the real deal for dropping the trigger into a match quality trigger!  I should have done this the first week I owned the rifle.

Here is the after target, I submitted it under another post for consideration for a possible upgrade on my NUAH status.  Not submitting for a new score for the match, just happy with the "new" trigger :)
