I shoot, 43g Eun Jins, 34g JSBs, 31g Baracudas, 28g Benjamins, 28g Hunter Extremes, 26g Polymags & 25g JSBs in my carbine & it shoots them all very well. The Eun Jins, Baracudas & Benjamins are a lot harder than the JSBs.
It's just a matter of adjusting the power wheel to compensate for different pellet weights. That's just two of the great things about the Sumatra, adjustable power & not pellet picky.

Yeah, those Sumatras are hunting gems,...My carbine used to shoot the H&N Hollowpoint ( the old style one ) real well too and those where super cheap.

What size  is the barrel of Sumatra carbine in .25.

All newer Sumatra .25's have lands of .251 & micro groove rifling so very little blow by. if 10 years or older it might have the .253 land barrels.

There's TWO things to do and a Sumatra or Evanix will shoot anything accurately. Sumatras are much easier as the power adjuster wheel. Easiest technical way is to have a slightly large soft slug swaged through barrel, and measured to the ten thousandths. Then order slugs sized to your exact thousandths. Depending on weight, power setting, number of shots you want or settle for, spread, accuracy, is all up to you testing & tuning.

What I personally do with my .25 Sumatra is use the mag in reverse as a sizer for the skirt, and or shoot them through on the lowest setting that will just get them through the barrel into a 55 gallon drum of water. They are now perfectly sized to the point of not being able to see any light through the grooves. If I use Benjamin Domes, at about 6-7 up, or down on wheel, right in the middle of the 13 settings, any pellet does fine though I suggest a lower setting for 25.43 Kings as a Sumatra will literally rip their skirt off/shred it. Benjamins are a bit harder and can take it. 33.95's are great, thicker skirt. First gen, not 2nd as head is smaller.

I even sized .253 50 grain Air Venturi slugs through the barrel on a low setting, then shot them on 1/2 power to 3/4 and all of the above ammo at 40 yards will go into one ragged hole.

I don't suggest firing anything at full power unless you just want to waste air or are pushing 50-70 grain solid slugs and just want penetration. You can get accuracy at full power with slugs but you're going to have a drop in POI even at 30 yards with every shot, so, up to you.

It takes some trial and error to find a slug that will outperform pellets in small bore guns.  I've tried several different slugs in my sumatra and have yet to find one that outperform the pellets that shoot well in it.  I would just use whatever pellet that works great in your gun and concentrate on hitting a good shot.  You have enough energy to get the job done so shot placement is the key.

I think you're likely right about that for accuracy... and if you're interested in accuracy... it's going to take time to figure it out and brings  you back to pellets, which JSB so far for me are pretty awesome... but I'm looking for pellet molds for both .25 (Marauder) and .357. I may be looking for another .30 caliber as well.
