One more Storm .30 hunt

My plan for the day was a long, plenty miles equal opportunity hunt.
i wanted to spend the day walking around on this huge property and hunt Hogs, mongoose and Peacocks,
For that reason my plan was to take my bow.
Everything was packed in my truck and I went to get my bow and quiver, at that time I realised that the arrows I made a couple weeks ago had the fletching all come unglued,...What ?!?!?!?!?
Ok, last second plan "B",...because of the type of hunt planned the .30 Storm got aired up and once again steps up to the plate to go to work
I love walking around looking for game and try stalk it down, Run into 10 or more Peacocks and like always they made me look like a fool on my attempt to stalk them
Gave a try at a few Mongoose, those also made me look like a fool
At one point I run into 3 decent hogs, as soon as I spotted them I dropped to the floor and planned to get to this boulder where I could peak over and possibly get a shot, I knew I had to get a move on because the wind was really bad and I was on borrowed time.
Before I could even do my first attempt to a crawl their nose went up and they where gone immediately
Few more Hours stalking around when I clearly hear a Peacock calling, as I close the distance I stop frequently to listen and try judge how close I'm getting.
I'm on an abandoned Jeep road, by now I can tell he's just around the next bend, Slowly, very slowly I round that bend and I spot him standing right in the middle of the trail calling away, at this point I put a tree and a California grass patch between us and close the gap a bit, once I got to the tree my only option was to get on my belly put the rifle on the ground and slowly, very slowly slide my way out in the clear, it took some time and some serious belt buckles scraping
but I eventually got a peak of the Peacock, he was standing facing in my direction and his neck was stretched up, he obviously noticed something at some point but wasn't sure what was going on and probably didn't see enough to spook.
I wasn't going to waste anytime so I sent a pellet right in the middle of his chest,........at this point I had no clue if a .30 cal at 85 FPE pellet would be enough to take a big Peacock.
the Bird took off to his right than I saw it try a short flight and lost visual,.....I had no Idea of the possible outcome.
I stud up and visualised a path in the direction of the flight, waited a few minutes then followed up, to my surprise I found the bird 20-25 yards from the hit,...The Storm .30 delivered once more

Forgot to mention,
as I'm wandering though the woods at some point I disturbed an Owl, watching that beautiful animal take flight in his full majestic self was the biggest treat of the day.

Nicely done. As a Chef the first thing I had to do after reading this was google some recipes. Now I'm hungry lol!
Ps. Your posts have me seriously considering picking up a Storm .30
