Peacocks aren't legal to shoot here. Do you eat them? I would think them a little tough and gamey, but what the heck do I know???

They may be beautiful but they do have a bit of meat on them. Gamy flavor but if you soak it in a saltwater/vinegar brine all smell and taste disappears. Great to go in a chicken Hekka dish replacing the Chicken. Or just smoke it and enjoy the beautiful meat.
We have a few feral pea fowl running around here. Usually they intergeate in with groups of turkeys. Something about that bird makes it seem like it would be good eating. It must be its regal apperance. As if its the poultry of kings.
