Flint, two reasons for this post...1) To bump it back up for new members to chime in with theirs2) How is the time line shaping up? Can you tell when the "P" stopped and the "PA" began? What about the end of the soldered valve?
I have a Benjamin 392P. Bolt handle side: BENJAMIN SHERIDAN CORP. RACINE_WI 53403 U.S.A. Left side:V144821 Model 392P 5.5.MM (22 Cal) Pellets OnlyGreat Gun. I have two New York 397's. One is a Nickel 397P and the other is a painted 397PA with the Benjamin thumb safety trigger group. Both of them have the lawyer trigger spring. They will get swapped out for a lighter spring to match the Racine gun. The Racine gun was not as much work to make it a shooter.

Reviving an old thread, I know. Curiosity got the best of me. My best guess it was assembled in early 94' with Bejamin parts. Would like to know if this is correct and how many pumps. I've seen 7 and I've seen 8. I only use 7. Love this rifle. It's scoped (dads doing) and in pristine condition. Again, sorry to revive an old thread but I'll be around for awhile. I have some air rifles to rebuild.
Hi Flint, I'm glad you're back. I appreciate the work you're doing. I've got a 397P N019105 392P N013130 Both marked Benjamin Air Rifle Co, Racine....If it's of any interest, I have a 597* C9A with old trigger and new valve, and an O97* with the trigger pack, so that puts the trigger pack in mid '97.
...I've recorded your 397 and 392 - those serial numbers are fairly early. Interesting you ended up with two with an N prefix and pretty close together. You didn't happen to have bought them new at the same time or bought them from someone who did?
also thanks for the C9 info. I kept track of those changes also. I have a record of a 697 with the old trigger and a 997 with the new trigger so yes, the trigger pack change happened sometime between June and Sept of 1997.
