Air Gun Gate / Re: So what did you Order / Receive today ? (to feed the "Beast" that lives within)« Last post by Rat Sniper (AKA: PaulT58) on Today at 08:54:40 PM »The Brown Truck deliver the FX DRS today. It arrived with 250BAR of air in the cylinder, so that's a good sign after 4 days traveling witht he UBS Gorillas! It's super lightweight and has a really nice feel. I mounted the ATN 4K Pro on it because it had tall enough rings, looks like I'll be ordering some new tall rings from Amazon. The scope feels like it almost weighs as much as the rifle... I zeroed it and took 5 shots, 3 of the 5 went in the same hole at 35 yards. The other 2 were probably my fault. I put a DonnyFL FX Moderator on it and the OD of the Mod is identical to the OD of the air cycling, so it looks very clean. So far so good!

Back Room / Re: Bridge strike/collapse in Baltimore« Last post by maraudinglizard on Today at 08:54:39 PM »Bob, after the Sunshine Skyway collapse in 1980, the new bridge has concrete bridge guards around each piling. I was in my senior year in high school when the Summit Venture hit the bridge. I remember the weather being very bad, a squall line was coming through at the time of the collision.

Back Room / Re: So if you didn't do anything airgun related what did you do today?« Last post by maraudinglizard on Today at 08:42:18 PM »Well for today it was saves lives through platelet donation. Then pick up gas cylinders at FL Airgas for welding. Then to china freight for sanding, grinding, and welding supplies. Then to wally world for a few things before the shelves are scraped off. The solar fan was delivered today so that will get installed tomorrow. The weather will be clear and dry that will allow me to paint the gate panel and let the paint to cure properly before installation. Pretty much hang around the house this weekend, not a big fan of holiday crowds.

Crosman-Benjamin Air Gun Gate / Re: (Old?) Crosman 760, will need help with this one!« Last post by Methuselah on Today at 08:20:49 PM »That's awesome, Steve. Glad to see it back in service! Thanks Jeff 5/32 punch made a good pivot before I stuck the cotter pin in there. It's a smooth bore, I may try other bb types, but maybe I need to try pellets in it too. No Ace Hardware around here anymore, but I might have a kit lying around somewhere from HFS a couple decades ago... The second 760 serial number suggests 1979 --- probably won't have the same difficulty getting the check valve apart. 7

I really like it! My wife is half Italian and is an Italian red sauce snob, so no jar sauce for her. More for me! 8

China/Asian AirGun Gate / Re: new to me Shanghai Model 62« Last post by Matchstickshooter on Today at 07:40:51 PM » Believe it's the B2, it has the barrel latch on the left side.
There is no rust anywhere,... all I've had to do was refresh the leather piston seal. That had hardened but a wire brush and a soak in oil cured it. Clean inside. Has fully adjustable sights. nice trigger. got it and a 500 tin of .22 CPHP in a swap. Yep, got to shoot it a bit, before the rest of the tenants came home. 10
Air Gun Gate / Re: What airgun related did you do today?« Last post by Blowpipe Sam on Today at 07:40:37 PM »I’m. Not the best photographer and this is a terrible camera.I've been treating the stock of my 1st model Crosman 1400 (Stubby) with my traditional stock mixture for about two weeks now. I give it a fresh coat every couple of days and the antique Elm has finally stopped sucking up the Bee's wax, Linseed oil, and Turpentine. I buffed it with a Chamois tonight and for the first time I'm satisfied with the finish. |
