Title: German Gate...Do's and Dont's...please read
Post by: bart the fart on February 25, 2011, 12:06:27 PM
Welcome, Welcome to the new German gate here on the GTA! We the members have been itching to have a German gate for awhile and here we go!  ;D
The GTA has long been known to be the friendliest and most knowledgeable air gun forum on the web. People willing AND able to go out of their way to help fellow members out. With this new gate comes some ground rules, to insure people don't offend other users, or put down what other members are shooting. Check out the guns i own....more China guns then German guns. I love ALL air powered guns, and that's what the GTA is all about, airguns and fun with them!!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

DO"S......Have fun! (that's why we are all here ;D) Learn as much as you can about these great German guns. Teach...if somebody has questions and you have answers, help a member out.  ;D All German made guns go in this gate.

DONT"S......Please no putting down other airguns or their country of origin! This gate is pro-German shooters, Not anti-everyone else!

and remember HAVE FUN!- SHOOT OFTEN -SHOOT TRUE!........Bart the Fart

THE GERMAN GATE WILL ONLY FEATURE AIR GUNS MADE IN GERMANY. IF ITS NOT GERMAN IT WILL GO SOMEWHERE ELSE...THANKS

Well, here's why this obscure brand of German made airgun is so superior to the junk put out by Diana, Weihrauch, and Feinwerkbau...
hehe
Seems silly to have to point that out, but some (only takes one goofball) people really do need to be told these things.

I really cotton to rule #2!  You don't know how many times over on the Dianawerk Collective I've seen this sort of thing.  And that should extend to any air gun, if it already doesn't.  Sometimes the HW VS Diana shouting match drives me off that forum for a while.  I'd like to see the tone of this forum be positive.  For example, less crying about plastic parts, etc, and more concentration on what you can get out of a gun or the good points.  We get enough of that in our day-to-day lives.  Or, to quote Sgt. Oddball from Kelley's Heroes, "Always with the negative waves Moriarty, always with the negative waves."

"Always with the negative waves Moriarty, always with the negative waves." yup RF....its my favorite Donald Sutherland roll forsure!....I just wanted to try to start this gate off on the right foot! And since this could be a touchy subject....just lay down some ground rules.....dont forget rule #1...  "have fun" ;D...bart

A friend of mine has just bought a Steyr LG110 PCP and I`m hoping to get some trigger time with it and some pics, but it`s AUSTRIAN !!!.................BUT because it`s clinical and efficient (almost Germanic in nature, like the HW100 :-\ ) would you let it in here?

I kinda think it would be better suited to this forum ,rather than the Dark-siders!

Over to you Boss!

Hi my name is Scott. I recently had my rws 350 turbo tuned by shadow.
I am still amazed at the difference in this gun.He got a high of 910 fps with the rws superdomes.
the accuracy is also a lot better. so my thanks to you Shadow.
I have a good size woodchuck in my back yard. That will be pushing up daisys soon. Thanks Shadow.

Great site, this is my first time here.  I have a collection of German shooters and love every one of them.  I have to say the overall quality of most of the guns I see lately regardless of origin is darn good, a lot better than I was a kid.
Bart, just wondering if anyone has pulled your finger, does it sound German or American?? From that end we all speak a common language, or at least my wife tells me that.
I look forward to a long relationship here.
How many Michiganders are here?? ;)

Bart, I just came onto the forum and registered and tried to post to the Help with HW90
post and it failed. Said I wasn't logged in. Yet at the top of the page it said Hello Pied46
then I went back to the response page and tried to post it again; said that I had already
posted the response. What gives?

Thanks,

I only own one air gun and it is a dandy, Diana Model 48 in .177.  Beware the guy who only owns one gun. Chances are he knows how to shoot it.

It's just too bad that Dianas are garbage compared Weihrauchs.

Yeah, I'm kidding. I prefer Weihrauchs, but I own a .177 cal Diana 48 and you'd be hard-pressed to get me to part with that squirrel-hammer.
I like the Diana sidelevers a lot. I also have a .22 cal B30, which I originally bought because I couldn't afford a Diana 48.
Then, I found the 48 for $70.00.
Now, if I could find an FWB300 with a LH stock.

I would kindly ask to reconsider the allowance of Austrian entries.

Anyway, we Germans, Austrians and most Swiss and northern Italians do speak the same language, and are equally attuned to making fine shooters.

I do like the Forum Category though.

Here's another one. I took on the job of repairing an Umarex Fusion I thought was made by Gamo (the new RONCO?), that's really made by a German company I just found out minutes ago is made in China??? My Winchester 1400cs is made there, as well as my son's Optimus (Crosman), and many others, including the Hammers scopes I like. If we keep sending posts about American, German, etc air rifles to the Asian/Chinese forum, these other forums where the company's are based will get a lot lonelier. And more confusing. I mean, how many folks really research where their new toy actually was built? I'm starting to think that's a lot of nit-picking...

Good question!? Case in point; My latest acquisition, a RWS 320M. $34 out the door! About 10 years old. Bought it off a buddy on my Facebook air gun groups. I created 9, Admin 11 and moderate the 12th. Anyway, he sold me the German marketed Chinese copy of the Weihrauch HW85/95. Some say copy of HW80. Copied the Rekord trigger too. I say darn good rifle for sitting Lord knows how long?!
(https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/640x480q90/922/onmeDR.jpg) (https://imageshack.com/i/pmonmeDRj)
(https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/640x480q90/922/rn62RK.jpg) (https://imageshack.com/i/pmrn62RKj)
It also has the old Apex muzzle brake, but the front screw-in piece is missing? Having trouble finding a new one? You guys have any ideas?
(https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/640x480q90/923/V4elpM.jpg) (https://imageshack.com/i/pnV4elpMj)
It even has the RWS stampings!
(https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/640x480q90/922/Dr5sYg.jpg) (https://imageshack.com/i/pmDr5sYgj)
(https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/640x480q90/921/4BeNh6.jpg) (https://imageshack.com/i/pl4BeNh6j)
And here's the serial number. If this means it's build number 137, then it could be first year, which looks so far to be 2007. The year I retired! How about that? And I'm of German decent, Slovak mother, finally get my first German air rifle and it's made in Northern China! Siest' le vei…
(https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/640x480q90/922/z5KQ1X.jpg) (https://imageshack.com/i/pmz5KQ1Xj)
  So, I guess that reads, " B(AM) (model)320M (build number)137"?
