My beloved Diana Panther 21 in .177 cal with T05 trigger doing ~5fpe with RWS Basic pellets.
Maybe not in lovely wood, but the ergonomics of the stock and grip just fits me perfect. I am owning a lot of airguns, I have owned a lot of airguns, but the 21 is here to stay. For already 10 years.
The ~5fpe is perfectly fine for up to 25 yards when target shootingh and I get nice groups when I do my part. Currently in 10 meter open sights set up.
This is an all day long shooter. Hardly no recoil and you can cock the 21 with your pink only.
Love them low powered springers !

That looks like a fun rifle. I've got the 24C in .177. As much as I enjoy full power, light duty rifles like these are a real joy to handle and shoot.

I couldn’t agree more Rudy. I feel the same way about my 240 Classic. Great little rifles for plinkin a Saturday afternoon away. I stretch mine out to the +30 yard tin can alley stop. Soup cans are a challenge to knock over and shot shells are a challenge with the open sights. 😁

Yes, the 21 is basically the same airgun as the 240, but then with the synthetic stock. The reason I have opted for the synthetic version that time, is for practise shooting with my son, he was 11 years old at that time.

Other than the RWS Basics, have you tried any of the non lead pellets. I thought the gamo raptors were decent for non consistent pellet skirt diameters, hut I ran a ten shot chrony test and the h and n green match were the most consistent. But at $25 a tin, i have been sooting the rapts and the green cudas. Going to get the green ftt on my next order. The Match’s get up to a smoking 600 fps!! Lols. Going to add a jm seal this weekend and see if we cant squeeze a little more out if her. While not an HW30, the 21/240C’s are surprisingly accurate. Top quality low powered air rifles are so over looked sometimes. Everyone wants 1000 fps. I just want a easy shooter i dont have to max the verticle adjustment out to 😁

If I have mounted a scope on it, I can target shoot and plink all day long. Often I do think, do I really need more than this in an airgun ? Of course if you're hunting with your airgun it is a different story, but if not...
Would fancy the HW30s as well, I have tried it, fine shooter, though the ergonomics of the stock do not fit me like the 21. i have thought about adding a Bisley adjustable butt plate to a HW30s, but then I think again... I have my 21.
I've tried the RWS Pointed pellets as well, doing good too... RWS Hobbies are a succes as well... JSB Exact RS are on par with the RWS Basics... The 21 is obviously not very pellet picky.
Good suggestion ! I do have a tin of FTT on stock and I have never shot them in any of my airguns actually :D they are just lying around lol - I'll try them over the weekend.

Rejuvenating newbie here, but I am a fan of German made airguns. This one is a beauty.
I am going to research the trigger you mention.

Interesting... I just bought one that does not have the T05 trigger I thought it would. Doesn't seem to have any way to adjust the trigger. It has nice balance, cocking, and shooting behavior. It's labeled as a "Diana Twenty-one". Mine also has a polymer barrel shroud and brake. I don't see the name "Panther" on either the gun or the box. Looking into it a bit more it looks like it's a "Diana Twenty-one FBB". Picture below of the trigger (found online). There's a hole in front of the trigger where stock attachment screw goes but nothing to adjust on the trigger unit. I removed the stock and didn't see any adjustment screws there either.

Yes, it seems you have the Diana Twenty One which is build on the same base as my 21.
Though the Twenty One is made in China under Diana's quality control, with no T05 trigger unfortunately. Now, I do understand you still can fit a T05 trigger unit in there (with replacing the piston as well). Might be worth considering, since I found my T05 trigger as good as Weihrauch Record trigger, though still a tad under Diana's T06 trigger.
