Darn nice way to start the match off Chuck!
You liking them Vogels? I found them not as accurate as the Meister's so far.

Thank you, Scott.
the darn furnace kicked on and the up-draft musta pushed a couple shots into the white . . . ::)
i've been using the Vogel's for three years now, and have been very happy with them. but, since the change in ownership, i'm not convinced they are the best.
on Monday i'll be ordering a couple tins of RWS to try. i have a pistol vise i use to test pellets with - very similar to a Ransom Rest - and it's time i again compare pellets for grouping. the Vogel's and H&N were tops three years ago - be interesting to see if there is any change.

I just printed off my targets, but I am still confused about the scoring, so please bear with my ignorance.
If, for instance, I shoot in the 4 ring, but it touches the 5 ring, is that a Five?
Also, what is the difference between a 10 ring shot and an X? Is not an X the same as a ten ring shot, or is it a bonus of some sort.
I feel so stupid about this because I own both an IZH MP 46M and it's brother rifle, the MP532, but I have never actually competed or even attempted to score my shots.

Stinger177,
you are correct - on both accounts. if your shot is in the 4-ring but it breaks the outside edge of the 5-ring, it is scored a 5.
the 10-ring is the 10-ring and it only scores a 10. the X-ring is the center part of the 10-ring and comes in to play in the event of a tie score.
should a match end with identical scores, the shooter with the higher number of X-ring shots would place higher than the other shooter.

Very nice Floyd!
I would have never guessed a 600 could be so accurate!
I bought one myself but it leaks Co2 as soon as I puncture the cart so I have not been able to try it out yet.
Sure would like to see a photo of yours.
-
Hoosier Daddy, i have a question - i shot and entered this match shooting a PCP powered pistol.
can i enter again shooting a CO2 pistol? i have not been able to locate any reference as to pistol classifications.
-
Chuck, It's just "pistol" no divided classes.
Pistols only. Any type/style/barrel length...
Techniacally a CO2 is considered a PCP (Pre Charged Pneumatic) just not HPA (High Pressure Air)
I never gave much thought to springers but they also would fall into the general "Pistol" category and compete with all the rest.
Thankfully, the rules were set long before I became a Mod. ;D
-
Dang . . . all my pistols are CO2 - except the P-17, but it's SSP . . . are there any good springer pistols worth buying?
-
Seems to me there were some older ones.
Think FWB, El Gamo, Hammerli

Thanks Scott. The 600 is an amazing piece of engineering, it will be one your favorites to shoot. The rds mount is ok, but the threads are pretty weak. While your in the rebuild check Wyoman's trigger mod. Instead of tearing through every pen in the house, just get the one that he has in the post. Don't ask...
