The 11th match of the season is now open.

I had the custom shop build this 2300, just received it yesterday.  The only thing I added was the 10.1" Lothar Walther Match Barrel.

Jesse,

I think you're going to like that Custom Shop 2300.  I bought a 2300 with a LW barrel from the custom shop around 10 years or so ago and really like it.  I put a BSA Edge 2x pistol scope on it to shoot it off of a rest and it was pretty accurate.  I haven’t shot it for a couple of years, mainly because once you put the powerlet in it, you pretty much have to shoot it down before you put it away so the O ring for the powerlet doesn’t get too compressed.  I think I was getting around 40-50 shots out of it.

Do you know if the 2300 uses the same transfer port size (.140”) as most of the other 22xx Crosmans?  I’ve modded several of my .177 Disco’s and a 2260 I put a .177 barrel on, by replacing the stock TP’s with a Challenger (.045”) TP drilled out to .065”.  With some hammer spring tuning I can set them to 12 fpe or 20 fpe and get a lot more shots out of them.

The reason I ask is, at one time I was thinking that if the 2300 had the standard .140” TP, it was probably wasting a lot of air, just blowing it out the short barrel.  By putting the smaller Challenger TP in it, I could get a lot more shots.  I’ve got a hammer spring adjuster for it but got busy with some other projects and never got around to installing it.  I think I might put that on my project list for this winter.

Shot my pistol targets late this afternoon and was going to shoot my 10M rifle target but my back started hurting.  May have to wait until tomorrow for the rifle.

Mike,

I'm not sure what TP the 2300 uses I have heard that the valve is different in that it has reduced volume. This can be removed for a higher FPS and a loss of shot count.
