Any 4-H air rifle and/or pistol instructors in this group. Air rifle instructor here for DeWitt County. Most all county's that have shooting sports in their 4-H program could use some help in their air rifle and pistol program. My best 4-H shooter is now 14. I can remember when she started at age 8. She could not even hit the target at 10m. She has progress from a sporter rifle to a precision rifle. She practices twice a week in Bloomington at the Central Illinois Precision Shooter range (CIPS). I used to be able to shoot against her and beat her but not any more. We laugh about how she couldn't hit a target and how she now beats me. She will be shooting in the Junior Olympic CMP State Qualifier this weekend March 10-11 and in the Illinois NRA Open Sectional Match March 23-25at the CIPS range. If she stays shooting till college age she should be able to get a scholarship to one of the collegiate colleges to shoot on their College Air Rifle Team. Yes there are college that pay you to shoot just as there are college that pay you to play football and basketball.
