So how much recoil dose the tx200 have? And what type of scope can be used?I currently have a falcon 4-14x44 scope, would the tx destroy my scope?Which would be better over all...the marauder or the tx?
So looking it would seem that the Tx200 would be far cheaper in the long run, and easier to shoot as well. I keep hearing people talk about the cocking effort of the rilfe....now it shouldn't be all that bad with the leverage arm being that long.So now comes the task of selling my FWB300s and looking at buying a TX200 and a scope! You guys are really bad men you know that. THANKS!
TX is smooth enough, but not PCP smooth what so ever ! ..... each requires it's own discipline to be shot well, each can be shoot quite effectively. PCP is far easier
woogie man. The TX 200 is a great FT gun, but do not that be the deciding factor for not trying a FWB300s in competition... I own a FWB300s tuned that shoots JSB 8.44 gr at 660 fps. It is a 8.1 fpe gun that still pushes 4.25 fpe at 55 yards, which is max range for a FT target. That is plenty of power for knocking down a paddled FT target. With a good scope (do not skimp here... it is more important than the gun), mine wears a 4-16 with a good, well calibrated AO, i can consistenly hit the far target on our HFT course. It has also done squirrel duty, knocking them dead out to 45 yards. If you already have it, use it... you will be fine, i promise. Make sure you found the pellets and weight it likes best... mine shoots the 8.44 in the same hole... but the 7.9 open up a bit. The 8.44 also help with wind issues, which is the hardest part to cope with. elevation issues are easily corrected, as drop is always a constant... learn to click or get a clear mil dot reticule. Your other option if you do want to trade rifles is to look for a RWS 54 (in either caliber). that rifle may be more familiar to use as you are already used to sidelevers. Sfttailrdr... the TX in .22 is not a disadvantage. several guys at the club shoot .22 in FT and HFT, citing again the superior wind bucking properties of a heavier round. We have a very highly regarded shooter that uses a detuned RWS 54 in .22 shooting at, get this, 730 fps... and he runs the highest scores on piston guns, reaching sometimes the scores of Top PCP contenders. I have shot a .22 HW97K... great gun. even my own FT hw77k in .177 set at 13 fpe has trouble keeping up with them... but it is not the rifle's fault... come out and shoot with us at the end of Sept... at the brookhaven rifle range. come and see for yourself.
