Would this rifle be ok for FT in October?

Have never shot FT. looks and sounds like a lot of fun. It reminds me of the pop up ranges we used in the Military that we used to qualify with M14/M16. 50yds to 350yds and you never knew where the target was coming from(iron sights only). I have a Hammerli 850 (.177 no mods uses a 90gm CO2 cart) with a UTG Bug Buster scope. I know October would probably be the last month for this due to weather and CO2. Also would you have to adjust the AO with every shot (how much time do you have for each shot)? Would I be better off just going the first time and observe what is going on? Is it OK to bring your spouse? Lot's of questions but I could not find much to let a 1st timer know what to expect. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, Bill.

Hi Bill, just started shooting HFT this year myself. Doesn't matter which gun you shoot. Having fun is the main thing. Everyone I have met at the matches has been great, and always willing to help. What class are you going to shoot? You have 1 minute to set up, and 1 minute for each shot. Here is a link to the AAFTA rules. Just go and have a good time.

Thanks for the replies, I would shoot target 12fpe and under. After looking at some of the posts and pictures of what everybody is shooting it looks like I need to be shooting something different than my Hammerli 850. I think I will start another post with suggestions of what to shoot and with what scope.

How I wish they're were some FT shoots closer to central NH. The closest ones I have located are over 2 hr. drive each way.
PA's sounds like it will be a great time but after checking the route I found it was 12 1/ 2hours each way. Guess I will not be there!!

Norm, The PA Cup does look like a great weekend even if you did not shoot. To be able to try out different air rifles would be a dream come true. A FT shoot was scheduled for Woburn MA yesterday but got canceled, that's not to far from you and 30 min for me. They said they would reschedule? It's the only FT shoot I have seen in the NH, MA area. I would love to go to a shoot to see all the great rifles everybody is shooting. It would be fun to compete also.
