The biggest issue with FO rods has been durability. They do break, easily, this the trend to protecting them more with layers of plastic and so on.
Sometimes the opposite is true in that too much light On bright days causes glare around the fiber optic tips. I can improve mine by placing a piece of transparent tape over the top of the Fiber rod which reduces light coming out the tip towards the shooter. But if more light out the tip is needed more light exposure of the rod length Both on top and under the rod Works. Rod could replaced with a smaller diameter rod for a finer point. Some guns have green on front while others have red. I think I like green on the front but both work.
