Yogi the only way to know is to try them
Most people seem to get somewhat reasonable groups from pellets other than their first choice for a particular rifle. And for the most part I do too. But if you look at that group above that I circled and labelled FTT that one group is not an anomoly. It is typical of what I get from FTT's. And they shoot that way in all three of my rifles. I am beginning to wonder if I got a tin of really inconsistent pellets. I have another tin I may try but I am reluctant to open them just in case I decide to trade or give them away.

I put about 100 to 125 pellets through my Diana 280 yesterday. I've been playing around with different pellets to compare them with what has so far been the one it seems to prefer. Tried some Barracuda FT and Barracuda Match and some Field Target Trophy among others. It seems that I probably ought to stop searching. The rifle seems to shoot several different pellets acceptably well but the 7.87 domes from either Air Arms or JSB seem to be T.H.E. pellet What I don't understand is just how bad the FTT's shoot. And they don't shoot any better in either my D34 or my HW30. Many folks here seem to love that pellet but I can't make it work. Oh well, it seems time to settle on the 7.87's. I have heard that the JSB and Air Arms are the same pellet. It seems that way from my Diana 280's perspective. The following groups were shot at 25 yards on the NRA 10 meter rifle target.
