That and in this state anything that fires an object by any form of fire or gas and is OVER 6mm caliber is a firearm in case of an AD, brandishing, location its being shot, and my favorite, depending on what day of the week it is. Its called selective enforcement and they won't mess with you until they want to or have nothing else to use. BTW, who is this instate maker you speak of, I may have to rethink my situation about an LDC.

I obviously like the Avenger since that's the one I chose for my first PCP. I will say that IMO the wood stock is definitely worth the extra $80. From my research, the Avenger maxed out is a 40 - 45 ft/lb gun regardless of caliber choice between .22 & .25. I like the faster, flatter shooting .22 caliber. When comparing calibers in Chairgun with a 10 mph 90 degree crosswind, the .25 is deflected 2.9" at 50 yards where the .22 is deflected 3.2". Not a huge difference IMO. I have noticed that "Orion the Iguana Hunter" who started with a .22, then tried .25 and I think .30, has now returned to .22 in his current FX airgun.I wouldn't worry too much about the end of the Avenger barrel floating. My initial accuracy tests show it to be very capable of producing repeatable accuracy. That said, I have a DonnyFL adapter arriving today because down the road I plan to put a silencer on my Avenger. When my accuracy testing resumes, I'll be able to report if the DonnyFL adapter has had any effect on tightening my Avengers' groups further.Hopefully, sharing my perspective helps in some way.
This is my take. I live in the same @$%^ state. Firearm arrests are a sure path for LEO- law enforcement officer, promotion whether it is for real or imaginary violations. Regardless of what the internet folks say, a “can” hanging off of anything that looks like a firearm is inviting scrutiny-trouble. Remember, the typical LEO is a good guy but has little clue about the fine points of the actual law.The marauder is among the quietest of PCPs and uses a shroud that looks like a heavy barrel, not a “can”. The rifles are sturdy, reasonably accurate, have a lot of factory support and are USA made, kind of like an old Chevy.Do take care, Mike
My initial suggestion for a .30 challenger remains because of .25 pellet availability and cost. As a PRK dweller I have seen local resources dwindle due to covid etc. The challenger has a moderated shroud just like a mrod so the LDC question is moot as said item is BYF as stock. Also has a transfer port adjustment for tuning. The Avenger, as much as I think its neat, is nothing I would invest in due to its pot metal plastic coated receiver. I also did have a pair of Gauntlets; all the charm of a mosin nagant...gave one to a nephew and traded the other for a rusty mrod in 177. The Mrod would be your best choice IMO in your list as far as build quality...the trigger group is great, ready available parts and mags.
I'd buy a .22 Marauder with the Lothar Walther barrel. I believe it's call the 'Field and Target' or something like that. It's a simple rifle that is easy to work on, and is proven... and there are probably more Marauders out there than most of the other guns combined. Easy and cheap to find parts for, and if you're pumping, the .22 give a LOT more shots than a .25. I have both .22 and .25 Marauders. Hand pumping will steal a LOT of the joy away from owning a .25. MUCH more air hungry. The .22 model that has the LW barrel is hard to beat in its price range. It's easy to get caught up in your own desires and over complicate things. If hand pumping, stay with a .22 and you'll be a LOT happier. Air Guns are articles of PRECISION. Accuracy is EVERYTHING. Even a 'Hotrod' .25 is easily eclipsed by the lowly .22LR. You are not going to 'kinetic energy' something into oblivion. Focus on accuracy. For that, a .22 Marauder with the LW barrel is a nice article. Don't get 'power drunk'... You'll only outsmart yourself. You'll do a lot more pumping that shooting.Good Luck
Thanks to all the respondents on this thread, it was both interesting and quite a learning experience.John
I owned a Hatsan Flash (not the pup) and was happy to sell it.It was very hard to tune, and was giving me about 3 magazines (at best) which is ridiculous. My 2 Avengers (.177/.22) and 2 Nova Liberty (.177/.22) will out shoot everything I tried so far.I also have a Benjamin PROD and Gamo Urban which I both really like and will not sell anytime soon.
