I just ordered my second pcp a gamo urban. I have a question for fellow urban owners. I see from a couple YouTube videos it does have and adjustable hammer spring. Most of the videos I’ve seen show it around 825 FPS out of the box with 14 gr crosman pellets. My question is when it comes out of the box stock is there usually room to adjust the hammer spring tension up? If so is it easy to get that 14 gr velocity up about 50 FPS to 875 or so? Thanks in advance.
I drilled a hole in the stock, in line with the hammer adjustment screw, so that I can make adjustments without removing from the stock. Drilling is a bit challenging due to the tight area, but not hard. For me, it was worth the effort. Ribbonstone’s findings were also very helpful, so thank you Ribbonstone, much appreciated! Learn to avoid double feeding, as it is very easy for that to happen, and is almost inevitable. If the sear doesn’t doesn’t catch when cocking, re-cock and remove the mag before sending the bolt forward, take shot and then you’re good to go until next time. Avoid the urge to just recook and shoot. Enjoy your new Urban, for me it is a great start!
