I own the Hatsan AT-44, Nova Star, Beeman HW100, all in .177 and the Gauntlet in .22. All amazing air rifles. I'd like to get him either a Benjamin Marauder or Air Venturi Avenger. I'm leaning toward the tried and true Marauder. Thoughts ?? Thanks , MikeWhat kind of pump will he be using? The Avenger is much less hand pump and bottle friendly given the higher max fill pressure, though many people just don't fill it all the way for the sake of being easier on the regulator. In another thread people seemed quite happy with their Kral made Benjamin Craftsman Series and they come with the 5 year Benjamin warranty so that could be another option. The Cayden or Kratos are around $80-$100 more than a Marauder on Amazon respectively but have a side lever breech and nicer stocks in my opinion, the Kratos also uses a bottle.

I also have the urban and avenger. Hard to really declare a winner. The avenger is much more powerful and just as accurate. The urban went right out of the box and performed flawlessly and greatly. The avenger needed the front part of the picatinny rail tightened, the rear sling stud turned to align with the front and the reg creeped. Got everything taken care of but that reg creep. Still causes a one shot 30 FPS spike. Avenger shoots harder just as accurately. I have more faith in the longevity of the bsa made gun. Not really sure which is victorious.
Actually can clearly vote. Took the urban out with its 35 dollar 4x32 Simmons and was drilling a 1” spinner every time at 48 yards. Quiet and super easy to fill. If I absolutely had to sell either my urban or avenger it would be the avenger without hesitation.

An Exploded View of the Carbine has the same Nova Liberty.I would like to know which o-rings you have on it.http://airgunnationforum.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/Avenger%20Schematics.1607720709.pdfSomeone linked a PDF download a few posts down, I downloaded it and it seems quite thorough, gives all the o-ring sizes and durometers.

The thing about Avenger's is they're built by Nova Vista and Air Venturi imports them. They are a good gun just hard to get parts for compared to some company's.
I returned both Avenger gun's ,and bought 2 DAR guns to replace those Avenger's ... the DAR guns are way better designed with a decent wood stock , and aluminum mags better action with out all the plastic junk the Avenger's are made out of ... we did have some issues with DAR but it was bad o rings That DAR has now replaced , and all the new guns have the updated replaced o rings in them ..... at the 300 buck range the DAR is the KING !

I waffled back and forth between the Avenger and the DAR. That DAR does look nice, and most folks seem to really like it. If they had credit card processing on their website I'd have one right now. I was already a little concerned when I read relatively recent reports like, "Tried to call DAR and all I got was a fast busy signal." When I went to place the order, reading on their page, "Place the order and we'll give you a call soon to get your credit card info," definitely didn't give me a warm fuzzy, and I backed out of it.They wouldn't be the first company to be awesome on the engineering side and awful on the sales and marketing side, but TBH I'd just rather stay in more traditional retail channels.
Just my usually useless 2 cents, but personally if i cant get parts for it i dont care how great it shoots or what features it has, its disposable and im not interested.
I have shot an AV Avenger, and I just didn't like it.To keep apples to apples, I compared it directly against my Fortitude and the Fortitude is just a better gun. On top of that, if something does go south, as long as you don't itchy fingers and start taking the gun apart, you got 5 years of Crosman warranty. Lucky for me, I can drive down and drop the gun off at Crosman. If I would compare apples to oranges in rifles, I would rank my top like this: FX MK II, Fortitude, Concept Lite XR...

I know that might sound snippy but it's simply a fact and there's no animism involved.

My Avenger has been perfect since day 1. It holds air forever, it's accurate, and no reg creep. Now that I've said that, I probably jinxed myself and will start to have issues. The only parts that I've replaced (in 10 months) are the two bolt probe o-rings which are a standard metric size and are easily obtained from any of the online o-ring suppliers. I shoot this gun almost every day. The light weight is one of the reasons that I shoot it more than any of my other PCP's. I owned the Urban for a couple of days when it was sent to me in error (I had ordered a Coyote) and found it to be too loud and I didn't like the plastic trigger. Otherwise a pretty nice gun.
