Can we focus on the original topic: Comparing the Avenger to other PCPs in its price range (less than $600-$800)?For instance, can anyone who owns an Avenger and a Benjamin Marauder rifle compare them?To Frank/Airnut:The author of the quote from the original post "I have to say that the Air Venturi Avenger is a world-class PCP and a best buy. It may even be the best air rifle I have tested in decades" is Tom Gaylord (AKA BB Pelletier) who is paid by Pyramid Air for his blog posts but is not employed by Pyramid Air.Tom Gaylord has been writing these blogs for many years (almost 20) and his reviews are some of the best and most unbiased I could find. He will usually say what he thinks in his reviews and his vast experience in airguns really shows in his writing.
MROD .25 w/ gm barrel is the cat's meow.
It's kinda like the Urban thing to me.... the gun was so good that folks started picking on it for being ugly and having a bulbus thingy hanging off it's nose.I must be the luckiest guy in the World... my last 6 or 7 sub $300 guns workeds advertised right out of the box... only minor adjustments to put them where I wanted them. heck, I even got the No Warranty Freedom for $100 and needed nothing right out of the box. Maybe a slow 100psi leak overnight.... big deal. Temperature change can do that.Maybe many of the guys that complain about the new rash of sub $300 guns are trying to justify spending $1k+ and making the same dang holes in targets. Sure they got some pretty wood and stuff but, I'm just not one to swaddle my guns in baby blankets. They hang one the walls, stand in the corners or in the glass curio cabinet tern gun case. They may be in the truck, the RV or slung on the back of the atv."Betty Lou, have you seen my 'so and so'?""Is that it out on the shooting bench where you left it last night?""Yep, that's it."
One thing I have learned over the years is to Never take what Tom Gaylord says for truth. At least take it with a HUGE grain of salt. For springers, he is OK, but pcp's and optics, forget it!He was a disaster at AirForce Airguns.

Does anyone already have the dimensions of the sealing rings of the PCP Avenger .22? An Exploded View of the Carbine has the same Nova Liberty.I would like to know which o-rings you have on it.

So, if I were to buy a Father's Day air rifle for my dad who has two break barrels now and has never owned a PCP, what would you suggest ? I own the Hatsan AT-44, Nova Star, Beeman HW100, all in .177 and the Gauntlet in .22. All amazing air rifles. I'd like to get him either a Benjamin Marauder or Air Venturi Avenger. I'm leaning toward the tried and true Marauder. Thoughts ?? Thanks , Mike
