Amazon had them for 28.67 last march without scope but shipped free. I bought one and it is yet to be opened. I am saving it for my great grand son who is 7 years old at this point in time.
I bought an 880 with dinky scope-about 1 year agoFor an air rifle of that power-probably more than a Pump Benjamin 397-it sure is EASY-SUPER EASY to pump -all but no effort-not sure how-length of cocking arm and maybe link mech. adv.And for cheapskates-like me- shooting BBs-which are all but free-sure beats my 5 cents each lead free pelletsThe only real downside is it is SOOOOOO light.Really shooting standing freehand-it just feels too light-My wobble-which I time to shoot-is tougher to time-because I don't use it enough to dial in an air-weight rifle wobble$37-a bargain-who cares if the BBs slowly wear rifling-doubt they do but who knows-guessing Daisy somehow surface hardens rifling-or more likely uses a hard enough alloy it lasts 30,000 rounds-so who cares-just buy another-same story 1377 pistol-I stick a powerful magnet to the rear of the frame-and it holds the BB just fine-barrel wears out-so what-$20 new barrelYou really can't go wrong for $39-assuming tax-safe for inside shooting-just lock pets out of hallway-shoot it into carboard box stuffed with tightly packed packing paper-4 pumps BBs easily penetrate cardboard and 2 or 3 splatter burst targets-caught by paperYes I re-use BBs too-and lead free pellets-especially if I keep it at 4-6 pumps-
Ray, my granddaughter is 7 too, I want her to start with the 880 since it's so darn easy to pump! Public school has indoctrinated her to fear guns and I just won't have it! Time for gallery games!Quote from: mr007s on February 25, 2021, 09:51:49 AMAmazon had them for 28.67 last march without scope but shipped free. I bought one and it is yet to be opened. I was looking at that but decided to hold out for a deal on a 901
Glad to see Walmart has these back in stock; but, I'll stick w/ my Winchester 1977XS.5 pumps w/ the Winnie gives 655 fps w/ Daisy's made in Spain flatheads and you're right, Earl ... they're very accurate.I'm testing the RWS 8.3 superdomes now. They give 660 fps w/ 5 pumps and are also very accurate.
I sent 50 pellets down range at 10m this afternoon with both the 880's and got them dialed in from a bench rest. I am impressed with the accuracy but do not like the sights at all. What sights are available for these?
The Walmart Daisy 880 is the gateway drug that got me hooked on air gunning. Was strolling through Walmart looking for a Christmas gift for my future father-in-law when I walked past the sporting goods section and saw these up on a shelf. He's been complaining about woodpeckers blasting wholes in the walls of his cabin, so I thought a bb/pellet gun would help me deal with some of those pesky pests. For the price, I didn't hesitate and bought two along with all the necessary accessories. Over Christmas vacation, we spent days plinking with the pair of 880's and had an absolute blast. Fast forward several months, he now owns a HW95, and I've picked up more than several pellet guns. Those Daisy's...they start an itch can't seem to be scratched!
