To be honest with you, .........if you put the pellet in the right spot and if you're using the right pellet I don't think any Boar will walk away.
Use the .45!
I've killed hogs with the Sumatra before just not a mature boar. I've read a lot of his posts and talked with manny about it too. I had a problem with my account so I started a new one. Are jsb heavies as good as barracudas? I've only used barracudas killing hogs so far but I remember reading the jsb heavies are harder than the regular jsb
Hey Manny, I tested the JSB jumbo monsters .22 cal 33.956 grn on the VW target, they blew some pretty good holes in it, so I'd say they're good.....
Not a pig-hunter- I shoot the toughest game there is: grey squirrels. And I go for ear-canal shots where possible, or just behind the zygomatic arch (cheekbone) on nutters if I'm using either my 95QE in .25 or my PP700. Ear Canal shots at a down-angle on any animal will kill Kill KILL it dead. I don't care what it is, scrambled brains are scrambled brains, and a down-angle shot into an ear canal mushifies the brains. A straight-line shot may or may not do that, as the tiniest bit of deflection causes the pellet to ride the skin inside the skull or just deflect, even with wadcutters. So although my input is at best just a thumbrule, I'd say the ear-canal shot with whichever gun you are most accurate with. And Sumatras are laser-accurate sledgehammers.
