Title: Fabulous beater fwb 300s

Got a scarred and freckled fwb 300s from Jim E, stripped, added all maccari parts and cleaned and lubed and wiped almost dry.  Lapped a nice Leapers mount into a drooper, put a 12x bug buster on, and my first shot at 10 m was dead on with a centered scope.  My other zero is around 35yds with Premier heavies, just the open tin I had handy. I知 hoping Jsb RS or HN Ft greens will be accurate and a little faster, but it is dead without a buzz right now, waiting for the weekend.  I had a ratchet cocking problem, but I changed the sled pins and give it an extra tug at the end of the cocking stroke and that solved it. Hope to be a more accurate poster. If you have a non collector fwb, Maccari it!

I am constantly telling people to buy even the unloved 300 guns. They are awesome!

Yep a Macarri Artic spring , new buffer and breech seal and a little lithium grease is all that needed to wake up a 300 into the low 650 fps range with 8.44 grain pellets and always superb accuracy from even the roughest looking of samples.

Cool gun, they are super easy to shoot accurately, quiet, nice trigger, and just very pleasant, congrats.  Wondering how you found the new pins for the sled?  I had to replace mine a few years back and and had a heck of a time finding them.  Ended up getting them from FWB in Germany via Pyramid Air service shop.

Congrats on getting a 300S bigdaver!
 Wonderful shooters aren't they.
I intentionally bought mine with the wood "untouched", it was an obvios "club Gun" with a lot of character and refinished it myself.

As a side note, you will also need to get your post count up to post pics, I think it is 20.

I値l try to post more.  I replaced the pins side by side, I might have swapped during reassembly. Just shot a FT match, 1 of 68, so take any claims with a grain of salt.  Gun was great, but I couldn稚 range.  Will practice, shots all visible on nice target paint.

Just about anything from JimE is great.  Have had a few of the 300 rifles and they are always fun.
