The receiver of the 880 is zinc alloy anyway.
A black nickel 880 might be sweet, too.
Ace Premium Satin black enamel rattle can is a good match to Daisy's black. Don't use flat or gloss. If it's Daisy's deep blue that simulated gun bluing, good luck! I've not found anything to match it. Some suggestions were to use an auto paint shop w/a computerized paint matching system but that would have to be spendy, I would think. You might get lucky and find something in the auto store touch up paint, just be sure it's not got metallic to it unless you're okay w/that look.
Stinger, Forgot to mention that the rebuild kit included a small plastic washer between the foam and pin just like you mentioned. He includes the new pump head assembled with the bumper, foam and rings. BUT the head is not flat. So it's all going onto the original one that came with the gun.

If I could get a decent underlying shine I could airbrush a mist coat of black over it. Given that the rear sight is screwed on would make it real easy to polish up. Not sure about the zinc. Never tried to polish that material.
You think the original paint might be baked on? I tried stripping the paint off my Crosman 1389 alloy receiver, even soaking it in acetone and nothing would eat it. I doubt it's a powder coat, but it sure acted like it.
Thx again Mark. I have a single tiny 1/4 long barrel scratch that was going to ignore. I will do a small test under the front stock to see how it looks and maybe touch it up.The Dennis Baker parts kit came in today. That was quick... I wonder if he drives stuff to your house personalty if has it in stock. These were supposed to be back ordered...3 days to my door is pretty good in my book. I didn't even start the R.77 work. So this is still the priority. I'll let you know the missing data base details soon.
