Im starting a little project of making my first laminated stock. I have laminated wood many times before but this will by far be my greatest endeavor. Below is a sample piece of the pattern the stock will have. It is made out of furniture grade birch. I already had this sample put together and decided to see how it would go dying after assembly. Not sure if i will use any dye in the final piece, maybe a few walnut veneers, depends how the individual dye tests go.
So now your turn, what do ya think. Ignore the dye i can do it proper this was just a test.
Make your guess how long this will take. Ill be happy to show update pics on progress if there is interest

Wanted to share a little more, here is my current progress, it is two veneers thick at this point. I did have an attempt before this one where i did a full layer before clamping. What happened was the glue caused the wood to swell and buckle and i couldnt get enough clamping force to flatten it out. So now it is done in 1' sections and calmped between 1"alum. Plates with 5 screw type bar clamps. This second one is coming out perfect so far.
Since it was hard to see in my small test i clamped a stack of my sheets together with crossing grains the same way i will for my stock blanks. When looking at the stack from the edge you get this wonderfully complex checker board pattern. The only thing i havnt fully decided is if i want this pattern showing on the sides or top and bottom. I may have to do both
