Using a sling in HFT

(1/2) > >>

Fred J:
I noted in a previous thread that slings are allowed in HFT. I have seen one person at our club use his sling to assist in free standing and kneeling positions by looping the sling around his elbow. Is this permitted in HFT in the U.S.? If so, is there any place I can find more information on how to steady my rifle with a sling for kneeling and free standing in HFT?

Thanks!

you should go to http://www.aafta.org/ and read the rules.  I'm not sure you can use a sling for the forced positions (kneeling and offhand).

For Hunter class in says a sling attached to the rifle at 2 points may be used.  No specifics beyond that.

A typical Butt & Fore stock connected sling is fine best i understand the rule.
NO tactical single point slings allowed.
