Daisy 777 loose rear sight

I just got in a rather pristine Daisy 777, and the rear sight seems to flop around a bit, I mean the whole sight body. Is there any way to tighten it?

I looked last night, and did not find anything about the problem then used some other google search criteria and quicky found a short youtube video on how to address the problem. Just turn elevation wheel in the up direction until the little shaft disengages, remove spring and little follower pin, note that serrations on elevation wheel goes up. All of that covers a screw that secures the rear sight base, It was loose up about 1/8 inch, no idea how it could have gotten so loose. I completely removed it and all was clean and dry so applied some blue locktite and reinstalled then went outside to shoot it. I may need a reseal, as at about 8 meters it took quite a bit of elevation, but accuracy seems good. I lubed it with a couple of drops of silicone oil and will let it disperse over the o rings tonight. I have to mow tomorrow, so Thursday I'll get the chronograph out and check the velocity.

Replying to myself, When I first got it, I tested for velocity and was rather dissapointed, getting velocities aroun 260-280 fps. I did spend a good part of yesterday afternoon and this morning finishing the grips. The seem to be dirty bare walnut, so sanded them down with 320/400 w/d sandpaper then applied several coats of Birchwood Casey original oi to get a thick coat, so I knew the wood was filled/sealed. This was after an application of red walnut stain which was much too dark, so this morning, wet sanded using mineral spirits as a lube and cut it down until I got to a med brown color with all the grain showing well, then continued with 400/600 grit paper then a couple of thin applications of the original oil finish, which was promply wiped off so I got a satin finish.
In the meantime I had given the wiper and visible O ring an appication of silicone oil, and let it sit overnight to disperse. I then took it out with the chrony and tested with three different pellets, RWS R10 match JSB exact express diabolo and some Crosman Premier pointed, weights 7.0, 7.87, and 7.4 gr respectively. Velocities ran from 340 to about 380 with most right around 350, so I think I will leave the internals alone unitl performance seems to drop off. My shooting point on my patio is in full sun and tem has already hit 91, and still going up, plus the wind is much too high today to try it for accuracy, so that will have to wait for another day in the morning when temps and wind is lower.

From memory, I think Daisy recommends non-detergent motor oil on the piston seal.
But I got to go RTFM to make sure.
