Gamo Arrow PCP - coming in May
« on: April 24, 2022, 11:24:40 PM »
We don't think the name is the best, but the gun is kind of neat, compact, and shoulders well.

Hey there Guys,

It's Rick from AGW.. I just heard from my contacts at GAMO that they have one coming to me for testing!  I can't wait to see how this new PCP does!

Stay tuned for our GRiP review, Range Time Videos, and Old School Airgun Review on the new Gamo Arrow PCP!

Cheers

That's a deal for a lightweight repeating PCP, even if it is goofy looking. The rear cocking is questionable to me, but maybe it's great. Is it regulated? I assumed the rifle to be regulated with such a high fill pressure.

It's not regulated. The cocking handle works well (need to get used to it).

Ya, and shows to have there middle of the road  3 year warranty..  not bad  not the 5 but better then the 1 .

Gamo pays shipping back to them for the first year . Turnaround on my last gamo was 10 business days .   Just to fix somthing simple its send it in so our gunsmiths can look at it  or we cant sell you a part unless you got a ffl..

Then my rma gun has now lasted 3 years solid shooting of gosh knows how many 1000's of pellets and  hits as hard tofay ad new ...lol

If this artow can do that i guess  a guy got his money's worth at $200...

I think i may give it a try....  Its cheap like me, has sights  and im a open sight shooter,  mag below the rail so any mounts i already have if it did scope it should slap right on easy.

Now i wonder how single shot easy it is ( no single shot tray showen).   Maybe have the gen 3i type mags as well?

That stright bolt maybe less moving parts to fail as well as you go.

just looking at the pics....

seems a single shot tray could be made (3d printed) but thatll leave a very small space to get your finger tip and the pellet thru

maybe a single shot sled....

I guess see a f that gta airgunner does a good review or not ..   hopfully with shots past 20y ..lol.   Guns like these pcp should be  50,75, 100 yards.  Not red ryder point blank as commonly seen..  heck my gamo spray mger shoots to 100  so i figure these pcp shoudl too and tighter..  ( with cheap cphp too boot)...lol. Then maybe throw out n single shot loading as bonus..😉

Hey there all.  I shot the Gamo arrow this past weekend.  I'll have a video out next week.  Here's some quick takeaways (spoilers..)

1. super nice to shoot
2. cocking system is more intuitive than a rear bolt.. think 10 meter guns like the crosman challenger or daisy avanti 599
3. shot count is a solid 60 shots per fill (.22) at about 16.5 to 17.5 FPE
4. it's a backyard gun.. good for target practice, youth gun safety (think junior's first pcp), pesting, small game hunting, etc.
5. I tested at 25 yards to start.. got good results with pellets AND some slugs (stay tuned)
6. Open sights are a very nice addition to this rifle as I believe many shooters will want it, especially for that use.
7. very quiet (DB, Trigger, and other tests will be in the following video)

I don't see this as a practical 50+ yard shooter.  The muzzle velocity is just too low.  35 yards, sure.  Once everything is dialed in and seasoned, you should get dime groups all day at 30 to 35 yards.  Maybe 1.5" at 50.. but it's not meant for "power."  If that's what you're looking for, then it may not work for you.  If you want a super affordable, fun to shoot, accurate airgun for the back yard and squirrel hunting in the woods, then you'll love this gun.

Cheers.. stay tuned for the videos..

"don't see this as a practical 50+ yard shooter.  The muzzle velocity is just too low.  "

Oh, i thought it was rated at 900fps in .22?

How much do you need to make 50+ yards?

I shoot 50- 75y  easy with 735 fps in a hatsan 95 . And that's open sighted.

That's quite challenging for a novice. I don't think I could even hit paper with my break barrel (admittedly a .177) at 50 yards.

I believe they claim 900 fps in .22 with an alloy pellet. (Marketing claims considered) Lead would be considerably less and drop like a rock.

Man cant be a novice all your life now can you ?

I dont know .    I just kinda figure if my spray ngets (gamo) can do 100 then if lt dan can with a rws34 .177

Why cant these pcp guns?   Or at least get a review guy that does reviews  , 25 y is drinking straw and spitwad maybe red ryder bb gun arcade review. Not pcp rifles.

Thanks s just my opinion of it.   .

I'll take accuracy over speed and distance any day. Takes less than 6 fpe to take out small game with a well placed pellet.

You can kill an elephant with a .22 LR, but that doesn't mean it's easy! This is an ENTRY LEVEL PCP, probably not going to be as accurate as a higher quality springer. Most people shopping for this gun are going to be first time PCP shoppers, maybe even a first air gun purchase at all. Most folks starting out with AG's aren't hitting anything accurately at 50 yards. To target market for this rifle is novice shooters, therefore testing the accuracy at 50 yards is less relevant to most shoppers. For folks like you it is important, but the point stands that this is not a rifle for a veteran shooter capable of 1 MOA at 100 yards.
