Hatsan mod 25 Vortex... very cool!

I've had this pistol for a long while but just recently learned of the adjustability of the Vortex ram. I'm not sure of the initial velocity, but I would guess 650-ish+ fps out of the box with CPHP 7.9's. Having issues with constant accuracy I decided to bleed the pressure down a bit. The pistol smoothed out, so I bled it down even more. It had a very mild shot cycle, but when chronied it was spitting out CPHP's at a mild 380fps. So in reading that 100bar was max pressure I decided somewhare around 70 bar would be good. I took it to 70-ish bar according to my pump gauge (kinda close, give or take) and the pistol is at a happy medium of power to shot cycle smoothness. Getting just under 6fpe or 575fps average with CPHP 7.9's. I'll have to recheck accuracy on paper when it's not raining, but had no issues reaching out to 30 yards and dinging a Rimfire diamond target.
As a side note, this barrel is very tight, which is great for accuracy but is a bit of a thumb buster while chambering pellets
Just thought it was cool having the choice of choosing "Magnum" air pistol power to mild pea shooter. I'll be playing with my model 95 .22 vortex next, see if I can make it a mild small game getter

You guys ever go back to search your previous threads to recall what you've done on various guns? Lol
As I remember (which doesn't seem to be much these days), on paper I was struggling to get the accuracy I wanted at the lower power levels. I do remember going up on the ram pressure (to maximum) and it improved the shot cycle, but was only getting plinking accuracy at 25 & 30 yards (rimfire targets, cans, etc.).
I'll try and get a fresh chrony reading tomorrow, just to get a baseline on whare things are currently. I don't recall the fps at full ram pressure.
If anyone has any input on these guns regarding fps, accuracy, useful ranges, etc., please chime in. I struggle with all break barrel pistols, but I feel in the right hands they can shoot well. Plans have been put in motion for this gun, but figured I'd revisit this thread to refresh my memory...
Here's a few photos of the Hatsan Model 25...
(P.S., I never messed with the Mod95 like I intended at the time, lol. And... These are big guns

Pistols, when they are accurate, are very accurate.
Free hand, I am better with my pistols that with my rifles.
My favorite gun to plink with is my LP-8.
I know how you feel.

The LP-8 is another big air pistol, lol. Honestly don't know too much about them, but similar to Mod25 as far as specs go (from what I've found).
This gun is shooting H&N Excite wadcutters (7.5gr?) just above 600 fps (about 605 average @ ~40°F). Not too shabby from an air pistol. Such an interesting design with the "recoiless" action.

I've got the mod 25 supertact vortex .177, I love this thing it's the first springer/air ram I've ever owned I can hit anything with. I think if it dies I'll just buy the .22 pistol version and drop it in this stock.

I found fitment issues when swapping from Vortex designs and the spring powered tactical. FYI

After finding shorter screws etc. there was still something hanging up in the cocking stroke, IIR some creative Dremel work sorta fixed that, but then I put the guns back the way they belonged.
