Dinh, La Carreta in Nashua.
Haven't been there in years. We used to go there frequently, but then Plaza Azteca opened up in Salem and we started going there since it was closer.
If you haven't tried it, give California Burrito a try. It's similar to Chipotle, but more authentic. I highly recommend the pupusas.

Had some leftover burgers, so decided to treat myself to the popular Hawaiian loco moco. That's fried eggs, on top of a burger, on top of rice, then smothered in gravy. Mmm Mmm!!!

I rode the Honda VTX over to Richie's Diner on Highway 79, my wife was out of town to a ladies meeting today. So I set the bike up to single mode and rode about 30 miles to lunch. I rode through wine country or as I refer to as "wino country" on the weekends. Much to my surprise I only saw one driver the appeared to be under the influence today.

I had smoked pork ribs and some thick brisket then finished with a slice of chocolate cake. Can't complain!

Susan and I went to Miller's Tavern tonight for dinner. We split a plate of bbq pulled pork nachos and a bowl of ahi poke. The nachos was a huge plate and the poke bowl was a very generous serving with A LOT of tuna!
I was apprehensive about the poke bowl, but it was surprisingly good.
After my glass of Blue Moon, I gave the pina rita a try. It wasn't bad, but should have stayed with the Blue Moon.

It was my son and my sister's birthday.   Sis wanted to go to Henriettas Kitchen in Cambridge for brunch.   Apps were a cheese, nut and strawberry plate and also a salad.   Sis had steak and eggs, son and I had salmon hash with perfectly poached eggs and hollandaise sauce.   Desserts were custard, lemon sorbet and an small apple/pear/stawberry/blueberry pie.   It was a pretty good meal.    Pricey but the way things are these days ya just don't know what'll be doable in the future.   Hospital was short staffed so wife had to work.   I was sad that she missed a nice time and meal.

since times are tough, i get the country style pork strips from costco.
long gone are the days when they were $0.99/lb, or even $1.29/lb...but oh well...
cut these into cubes and  season with salt, pepper and garlic powder, or taco seasoning, and bake low at 300F for 3.5 hours.
once they are fall apart tender, you can remove from oven and package into smaller amounts for all sorts of recipes.

one thing i like to do is cover some of them with bbq sauce and stick em under the broiler until they get goey.

May have to try this some time this week. Thanks, John!

Lunch took me back to childhood days and I loved it....

Tomato soup with oyster crackers and a peanut butter sandwich. A large cold glass of milk. Then I took a 30 minute nap ion the recliner before returning to work.

Last night's dinner was cheesy slaw dogs with mustard and backed it up with home made banana splits.

Not sure what dinner will be tonight but I know an A&W Root Beer float is on the plan for later this evening.

When my Judy and I lived in Lafayette, LA, we often had a dine-out date at the A&W Drive-In.  We were just starting out and ¢¢¢ were tight.  [There is a Car-Wash there now.  :( ]
The home-made A&W Root Beer Floats are good, but . . . .

Last night, we joined my son's family, his mother-in-law, and aunt-in-law at Red Lobster.  Monday night is
Ultimate Endless Shrimp Monday
On Ultimate Endless Shrimp Monday’s, mix and match Parrot Isle Jumbo Coconut Shrimp, Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, Garlic Shrimp Scampi, and Wood-Grilled Shrimp Skewers. $18.99* with choice of side.

I hurt myself with the Garlic Shrimp Scampi.  Yummmm!

Duck breast from the food pantry.   Sauteed with some hot chili oil and a lot of garlic.   The pan residue was duck fat mixed with the garlic, chili oil and a little butter so I soaked that up onto a nice crusty baguette.   Intense, wonderful flavor.   Not sure how heart healthy it was.
