I bought 2 Athlon Talos 4-16x40 scopes from AoA, they had them on sale so I figured I'd buy a couple and try them out, I mounted one scope on my HW100BP .22 replacing a Discovery 4-16x42, The discovery scope was pretty good but it seemed to not hold zero and had POI shift when the weather was hot, so I tried this Athlon Talos, sighted it in and shot all day, it got hot yesterday in Valley Center, about 85 degrees, the scope handled the heat just fine, no POI shift and it held zero all day, the glass is first class, very clear and it focused very clearly, I got the Mil-dot version, the turrets are capped but are zeroing type with just a screw on top, each click of the turrets is very positive and has no slop, I dialed in the scope to 30 yards, it took 3 shots to dial it in, the scope is very good and affordable, I will be mounting the other on my Uragan .25.
P.S. UTG focus wheels fit perfectly on the side Paralax focus adjuster on the Athlon Talos.....

There appears to be different UTG focus wheels. Aside from different diameters, some state for BugBuster, some for AccShot New Gen, etc.
Can you provide information on the one that fits this Athlon scope?

I have two of the Arhlon Argos BTR FFP scopes. They are indeed great glass for the price and they are built quite well. Never had an issue with maintaining zero either. Was gonna sell the 8-34x56 but no one wanted it so I guess I’ll just hold onto it. Glad the Talos is performing well.

There appears to be different UTG focus wheels. Aside from different diameters, some state for BugBuster, some for AccShot New Gen, etc.
Can you provide information on the one that fits this Athlon scope?

I seen guys making a wheel fit, but knowing that's a out of the box direct fit is good to know
Well.... Review from pyramyd air..
What others should know: Some quick dremel work and I had this fitting my Athlon scope.
May not fit my Talos it's the 3x12 mildot.

I have just purchased 2 of the talons 4-16x40 scopes sfp and they both shift poi on my beeman r7s. Zeroed on 10x and they move poi on any other magnifications. I am not talking about using holdover either. The center crosshairs only. If I zero on 10x and zoom to 16x my poi moves about 2” high and 1” right. Are they both defective?

I don't think these are Springer rated Scopes, fine on a PCP but I think a springer may break them.

Hmmmmm.......lol. use one on a gamo whisper fusion mach 1 .22 and the r9..
No questions asked lifetime so they dont care what you mount it on ..
That how the ball bounces on any scope on a springer any brand .. it works out or they dont..
