Having a variant 1 760, and reading this, I'm wondering if another Crosman bolt would fit more snugly? Or cut a groove for a small O-ring seal?
I've got spare, small O-rings laying around, but need to find a way to cut the groove for the seal in the right spot on the bolt. I'm restoring the rifle, so it'll be apart anyway. Maybe chuck the bolt in a drill and use a cut-off wheel in the Dremel to cut the groove with?

Especially when you're working on a part that's hard to come by. Use the o-ring out of the valve in a cheap butane lighter.
