Title: Ruger Blackhawk (XISICO XS25S) 2nd screw trigger mod
Post by: martis880 on July 23, 2021, 03:57:29 PM
I recently purchased a Ruger Blackhawk combo from Amazon, as an upgrade from my first airgun the daisy 880.

I've seen people talk about the 2nd adjustment screw trigger mod, but I was curious if anyone had a writeup, pictures, or video of how they did it?

Is everyone just ordering the work from Mike? (Totally understandable!)

I haven't found anything searching GTA but it's possible I missed it.

Thanks!

Hi, Patrick, I shoot the AH & BH. Both have the T05 and the triggers seem nice just as they come. Mine have a hole in the trigger guard for access to the trigger adjustment screw. They can be adjusted to a hair trigger if you wanted. After shooting the 880 I would think you could highly appreciate the T05.  Why not try it out as is and get the gun broke in some. See if you can find a hold and ammo it likes. I mostly shoot CPHP and they work out, lucky on that. You might like it or still want to upgrade.

I never saw it. You won’t find that 2nd screw mod on GTA. I doubt Colonel Sanders wants to give up his chicken recipe either !

I don't know if this will help or not.  You need to remove the stock.  Then you remove the trigger blade.  You will see one screw in the bottom and a pin going from side to side.  The pin is where the second screw will go.  The pin must be removed.  The second screw should be parallel to the existing screw and go through where the pin was.  I think the existing screw is 2.5 mm.  If you opt to go with that size I think the drill is 2.05 mm.  It may be a 3 mm screw in which case the drill is 2.5 mm.  Another option would be a 4-40 machine screw.

Thanks Thomas!

Do you know what the 2nd screw mod ends up doing? I mean how it works to provide extra adjustment? Also does it adjust the force needed to fire, or is it more of a trigger-pull-length adjustment?

I haven't received my gun yet, it might be obvious once I open it up.

I found the thread I thought existed! (someone on reddit pointed me this way)

I should have been searching for "T05 mods", since that's the name of the trigger.

Normally with a T05 the first stage is fixed by that cross pin.  After removing the pin and installing the second screw leave the screw backed out.  Set the original screw to the point at which you want the gun to fire.  You can then turn the new screw in until you find a first and second stage.  The trigger pull will be notably easier until you hit the "wall", the point after which the gun will then fire.

It is good to know the answers are here if the question is asked.
