I used to like plastic army men but the last few bags I bought are a more brittle plastic so they're only good for one shot (they shatter when hit). Now I like to buy vinyl finger puppets and use them for practice. Only slightly larger than the army men but they'll take a LOT of abuse before needing to be replaced.I line them up shooting gallery style and see if I can knock each one down with a single offhand shot.Blue Army men on ebay, go to Vintage those are the good one's...

I might try shooting some wine corks soon. My stash is overflowing and I have no other purpose for them at the moment. Could probably take a few hits from a lower powered rifle before becoming unusable.
The soup can has to be the king of reactive targets. It is cheap, readily available and can be reused until it is so full of holes that the pellets just pass through.I like to drive a hole in the bottom of the can then run a string through it. On the end of the string that is inside the can, I tie a nut or washer that is bigger than the hole. Then I tie off the free end of the string to a tree or target frame that way I don't have to go down range to recover the can when it goes behind grass or dirt clods so I can't see to shoot it.This is what I do also. I buy the high visibility paint and spray them and then hang em. Also the little bean or veggie cans are perfect as they are the size of a lot of small game. At forty yards I use soup but 20-30 yards I use the smaller ones.
Obviously I do not know how to copy and paste..... the last few sentences are mine in the last post. Sorry to the original poster.
