Bob my approach was always to establish "maximum effective range" for a target. I have air guns that are for use under 45 yards and some maximum at 105 yards wind permitting. My self imposed rule has given me very good results.I do not use slugs as my barrels are not suitable in my opinion.

I like to shoot targets up to 200 yards, so power and accuracy are important. So far, I can't chose between a 22 Tiger Claw and a Challenger. My old 22 Galatian that I lost in a fire (sob), was good for 200 yards, in fact it still had enough power to punch holes in an old picket fence near the target.
☆Does it shoot CPHP's accurately? ☆
I think as long as a gun has a LW, BSA or CZ barrel it already is an acceptable gun to begin with.
