I've been looking at the Kratos by Benjamin. I only have one issue that I can find with this model, that being the lack of a front barrel band for support. Most manufacturers are going with one now. Why not the Kratos? I'm a little concerned with the possibility of subjecting the barrel/mounting block to accidental stress if it were to get bumped or dropped at all. Your thoughts? Any owners out there that can jump in with your opinions ? Thanks.

You will rarely find a bottled gun with barrel support. FX/Daystate/Raw are just a few of the most known for not using barrel bands and doesn't seem to be too much of an issue.

I too was concerned of the "Free Floating Barrel" on my Kratos, but my 1701P pistol is that way and is accurate as all get-out.
As well as the high end guns Troy mentioned.
The Kratos barrel is shrouded and solid as can be. I have "bumped" it a couple times and cringed each time.... but absolutely spot on zero the next time out.
I have a buddy with a 3D printer and he is willing to make a bottle/barrel band for me of my design. BUT a band location DOES effect harmonics and I figure if it ain't broke, why fix it.

The shroud is also keeps the barrel tensioned.

I had not considered that aspect. I know the Gauntlet2, the Marauder, and my Weihrauch HW100 utilize a barrel band, and thought of it as a "given". Obviously, it's NOT a hard and fast rule with these PCP's. I was aware of the potential shift in barrel harmonics. All good stuff !! I appreciate all of the responses. That's how we learn....from each OTHER. Thanks.
