For what you get, they are still bargains in my book . They will last forever if taken care of. Two movie tickets, popcorn and cokes cost that much...just saying..everything is relevant...Happy plinking
just checked my wallyworld... 25$ for the christmas special. Also. i just checked an old ad for the 1940 red ryder... 4.95$ would make you the coolest kid in the block. if you input that on a inflation calculator, the same gun should cost 97.79$... still think its not a DEAL for 29$. And yes. i do have older ones, from 1938 (the original carbine) to the last iteration made in china... the new one shoots the best. Everyone should own one... is by far the most basic entry to our sport, and the feel of a red ryder in hand is still a magical thing.
Might just be general price increases. The iconic Buck model 110 folding hunter has been around $36 for years, but recently they jumped way up to the MSRP of around $60.They're still well worth that price, but sadly the price people have been used to is surpassed and that will turn some people off who have crazy expectations.

Try and get one with a SV30 drop point blade in the custom shop and see the price go waaaay up. I bought one for a friend's birthday a couple of years ago.
