This came up in another Gate and after suggesting the OP email Vortex, I did myself to see what they'd say.The question was which, if any, Vortex scopes would hold up on spring and gas rammed air rifles, even on the 25-30fpe Magnum springers. Very nice guy by the name of Clay in their CS Dept. emailed back this morning with this reply:"You bet! We've tested those on everything and anything from air rifles to 50bmgs. As long as they're paired with a quality set of rings which are torqued to spec and then not shooting out of a lead sled or other recoil capturing devices. You're all set!"Hopefully this helps anyone who's considered Vortex scopes for their spring piston and gas rammed rifles.

I just perused the Vortex site and found nothing in the $300ish price range with a 24x max mag and ILLUMINATED RETICLE! The way the field target lanes are being set up at the local clubs using a lot of dark lanes and black/dark target faces I found that on quite a few targets the unlit reticle of my 4-12x50 Hawke Airmax (AO version) gets completely lost on the background. This was solved with a 4-12x50 Panorama (discontinued with no support) which had a lighted reticle feature as well as my 4-16x44 Hawke AirMax Compact.

While nothing in the Vortex line might work for you, knowing that all their scopes are rated for magnum springers gives air gunners yet another option to choose from in pretty narrow market and that's not one bit a bad thing.
To each his own sir and for whatever their reasons may be. My post was merely to put the word out to springer and gas ram shooters looking for an airgun rated scopecan look at what Vortex has to offer and have a few more options for scopes that, at least according to Vortex, will hold up on their rifles. To us, it's a pretty big thing...lol.
