You know, that is a good idea. I guess I was just hooked on ao and didn't really give it a lot of thought. I shoot 35-40 yards and under and sometimes will shoot 10 yards or so just to plink. I'll have to look into a no ao scope. I guess I was willing to give up variable power, because I usually just set it and forget it. I really wish someone would make a really nice 4X (or 6X or 8X)scope with side ao and really good glass. If they insist on a lighted reticle, which is useful once in a while then just a simple one, not 36 different colors and 5 different reticle choices, just a simple mil dot with maybe two colors that doesn't quit working after three for four months. The fixed power scopes don't introduce so much chance for manufacturing error via power change etc and seem to be a more rugged scope.
I looked at those but the parallax on one only gets down to 25 yards and the other doesn't have ao IIRC

I just scoped my Daystate Huntsman Revere with a Leupold FX-1 Rimfire 4x28 scope. Parallax is set at 25 yard and things are clear at pretty much all yardages. It's pretty much the lightest scope on the market at a weight of only 7.5 oz. I like nice, neat, compact scopes. I just don't see the need in putting a huge scope with all sorts of doodads, illumination, giant turrets, etc. on an air rifle and it ending up looking like a 1,000-yard Army sniper rifle.
