Beeman Sportsman 1000 Repair

Hi all! A while back I bought a Beeman Sportsman 1000 Series air rifle used. It was functioning pretty well. However, I now have a problem and I would like to fix it!
1.) I have no clue about this rifle in terms of taking it apart. I have done a lot of reading online and am finding almost no information on "Sportsman 1000 Series". I have no other information, but this is what is on top of the rifle. I see videos about RS2, and it looks similar, but I do not think they are the same gun. Any insight as to what I have and how to disassembly it for repair is appreciated and needed.
2.) It cocks, and it fires, but it does NOT shoot the pellet out. I have a grainy light colored material embedded behind the pellet in the barrel and a similar material falls out on my forearm from the slot under the gun at the cocking lever. My uneducated guess is that this rifle simply needs a new piston seal as the old one is degraded and this is what I am seeing in the barrel and under the rifle. The breech O-ring looks great. No damage and it is still supple.
3.) The front sight is damaged. Can I remove and replace this sight? It is plastic, but I cann see how it is installed on the barrel.
Any help with any of this is most appreciated! Thank you!

Sounds like it needs a new piston seal and a through cleaning and lube. I would guess it's not pushing any air.

I just realized my gun is chinese. I have made my post there instead. Feel free to delete this post. It's in the wrong spot...even though I just read about not putting things in the wrong place.
Sorry.
