i got my grandsons Slavia 634 all tuned up, shoots better and the trigger works great, my grandson is at the point where he would like a scope, looking for some input on something like a decent 4x12 power scope, i know there are alot of choices, maybe some shooters can chime in an optics that they are happy with that wont break the bank. and not too heavy
thanks
chet
ps i just looked at the Hawke vantage model 14141 any thoughts for starters

I've had a Hawke Sport 3-9 X 40 for several years. It's held up well. The Sport series has been superseded by the Vantage series, I believe.
If you seek something smaller and lighter go through the Leapers scopes. They do offer a compact series for some reasonable prices.
Both manufacturers offer lifetime warranties on their products but I recommend retaining your receipt should proof of purchase ever be required.
I believe Center Point also offers a lifetime warranty.

I used a Hawke Vantage 3-9x40AO Mil-dot for a while. It works great, but I thought it was a little too big and heavy for this rifle.
Then I installed a Hawke Vantage 2-7x32AO Mil-dot. Works great and perfect size.
Then I picked up an order of four of these scopes that were recommended on the bargain gate. I think they are a little clearer than the Hawke and are also a good fit for the Slavia. I liked it so well I bought another four for future rifles.
