I purchased a Slavia 634 using some Amazon gift cards; delivery dude dropped it off yesterday but it was just about dark out. I took it out this morning to see what it can do. Heavier pellets, lighter pellets, wadcutters, pointed, domes, and hollow-points.Coal Fenix domes showed promise- grouping better than JSB Exact Heavies and Ultrashocks. I also found a gun that RWS Meisterkuglen wadcutters do NOT group (first time I've seen this!) and H&N Sniper Magnums didn't group. I was very surprised, though I only have about 70 pellets down the bore. Both the RWS Meister~ wadcutters and Sniper Magnums group in everything I own that's .177. Reluctantly, I opened the brown-box 10.34 CP Domes... took a half dozen shots while fiddling with my hold... nickel sized groups at 12 yards. Okay, now we're getting somewhere. Shot a couple Beeman Silver Arrows, then back to the CP domes- six shots covered by a penny. The gun is VERY twangy, actually more than my B-3, but the trigger is predictable, consistent, metal, and comfortable. I'm still sorting out my grip- thumb on top of the stock's wrist or wrapped around- both work. It doesn't seem super sensitive to artillery hold, but I'm mostly focused on break-in, not accuracy, and my "targets" are a dot drawn in black marker on a piece of Amazon cardboard box- not exactly a high-tech affair. The CP Domes are shooting ~ 620 FPS (I took a dozen shots over the Chrono and they ranged from 619 to 624 FPS) for 9 foot-pounds of energy. For a plinker that was effectively free (I converted Choice Hotel points to Amazon gift cards), I'm not complaining one bit. And the accuracy is there- I suspect it will improve as I figure this gun out. Once I smooth out the twang, I think this one is worthy of a springer-rated scope. Any thoughts?I saw a thread for adjusting the trigger, but I find myself liking this one, so I think i'll leave it for now.
