Have you put a small washer between the hammer fork and the c-clip on the valve stem to give it more "throw"?
Well I think the 880 bug has bitten you but good.

It's a bear to get that c-clip off and on without destroying it. Takes just the right thickness of washer. I'll try to get you some better feedback on it, but it won't be anytime soon. It was just a suggestion, and as much to see if anyone else has done it. If you're not getting any residual air after firing, it's probably not necessary. The way to test it is to pump it up, fire a pellet, then cock and fire again (without cocking) and do a tissue test at the muzzle. I also thought I had read that trick somewhere when I was modding my 880's this last summer.Residual air is a bigger deal on Crosman 13xx's, and we put adjusters on the back end to adjust the hammer spring to get into that sweet spot of number of pumps/fps/no residual air.
Bill - Which "wire safety clip" are you referring to?You doing the Cerakote yourself or having it done? Curious as to what that costs.Dennis
The Brown sand blasted one is a gun I got from Dennis on this forum, it now is working pretty well at around 595fps+ using 10.5 gr pellets with 9 pumps. The Black one, which I got from a buddy at work and just about totally revamped is working but not up to snuff, she is getting 530fps with nine pumps. Both guns have the steel flat trigger spring removed, the brown one has a new style piston that has been JB Weld filled, the black on is from 2004 and has a flat cast piston. The black one also has a 3/32 pop rivet replacement for the magnetic probe and it fits like a glove, it decreases the diameter of the stock magnetic probe by 49% and that should increase airflow and velocity ! I can't see that decreasing velocity and plan on doing that to the brown gun also.Tomorrow I will replace the plunger with a new style plunger and see if that makes a difference.wllJust went back in and pulled the modified hammer and noticed I had a modified valve installed too ... pulled that also .. gained 10 fps ! Now she is at 540fps .. still about 50-60 fps to slow ?
