here is a question... i just shot i think the 10th male nutter, without a single female... is that normal? for the entire population to be male?

I usually see more males than females too but more like a 5 to 1 ratio, not 10 to 1.  Are you 100% sure you are identifying them properly?

i'm fairly certain you can't mistake the pair... but i will start making a mental note to sex identify some i see walking around, not in my shooting lane

I think the reason we shoot more males than females is because the males are a little more aggressive and probably more confrontational.  The female squirrels seem to take off easier and hide or avoid conflict, where the males have a bigger ego and will often hang around on the tree and bark at us or give the alarm, giving up their position, or hanging out long enough to get shot.  That's my theory anyway.
