Target Printing

(1/3) > >>

tudorsub:
I was wondering what type of paper others use for their printed targets?  Regular copy paper, the white 20 lb. weight stuff tears quite a bit with my pistol.  (FAS 604)  I tried a heavier 100 lb. weight paper that is supposed to be for dividers in folders, and that also tears.  Does everyone else print on something different or just back up the targets with cardboard or something like that?  Just wondering.  Thanks

WELCOME to the GTA Forums and Target Shooting Matches !!!!

I'm using recycled 14lb. junk paper, it seems to work best.

But don't ask me where to get it, I bought a case of it years ago, and used it for scrap until now.  ;D

If you take a new flat piece of cardboard as a target backer, you will find that helps a lot !

That works, plus "baking" the targets. Turn on the oven for a short while, turn it off again, put the target inside for a short while.

I use the plastic corrugated sheets you see used for advertising. The local tobacco store always has them that they throw away. You can cut them to size. The weather does not hurt them if they get wet. Use light staples to secure the target.

Cheap construction paper work pretty well too. Hard paper makes the best target for paper punching. Cleaner holes.
