What Ballistica Apps are you using? I miss the old Chairgun & Strelok apps

Now that Hawke's Chairgun and the Strelok apps are no longer being updated.  What are you using.

I really miss Chairgun's graphing and ranging features on windows.  Unfortunately, the recital and pellet DB's are not currrent.

Years ago I used the ChairGun app and didn't find it to be worth the hassle trying to get the chrony to agree with the "ChairGun guess" vs the actual trajectory when shooting at different distances. I ended up simply printing some targets using a CAD program similar to this...............

 After optically centering my scope to put the point of impact within an inch of the point of aim at my favored 30 yard zero distance. The next step was to "fine zero" the scope at 30 yards using the turrets, then shoot groups at measured distances and this was the result. These trajectories didn't match the ChairGun calcs so I nixed the "puter guesses" only shooting the targets to get "real world" trajectories...........


After shooting the target I would mark my AO or side wheel with symbols representing "sharp focus distances"..................'

After marking the "aim points" based on sharp focus distances I never needed to take time consulting a "dope sheet" to compensate for "holdover" when hunting.........

Thanks Ed, this is great. One can use chairgun to get some preliminary numbers such as best zero points (I usually set 0.5 inches for the "zone"). Afterwards just use your methods to come up with the actual drops.

I assume your target has 1 inch squares?

The software on this site https://gpc.fotosoft.co.uk/ are the follow-up to Chairgun and are now maintained by the original Chairgun developer. You will find many new reference drag laws for the different airgun projectile types.

Don't forget to correct for atmospheric conditions, both when deriving BC values and when using them in trajectory software. This is the biggest source of errors in the answers obtained.

Yep..........Thick dashed lines are 1" apart and the lighter dotted lines are 1/4" and 1/8" apart. The bulls are 1/4" dia inside 1/2" dia.
