Crosman 2200 metal valve needed
(1/1)
Eagle Eye:
Hay Guys,
I've been fixing up my Dad's old Crosman Pumpers back into the best working condition I can. I have parts on order for his 80's C760 rifled barrel. I have his early 90's 2100 working. I picked up an 80's Crosman 2200 Magnum that needs work. It shoots ok but under 480 FPS with 14.3g pellets. I found the brass valve has been damaged with pliers marks on the sides and the valve top cone was cut on apposing sides. I need a new valve! But I'm looking for an origin brass or a good quality stainless steel replacement. Does anyone know where to get a good metal replacement valve. I ordered one off Ebay and the seller actually sent a plastic valve and a plastic poppet! WTH! How can someone sell this kind of &^^&. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

So when did Crosman change there valves on these rifles to aluminum. I can't imagine the aluminum parts hold up long term? Is it just the older models replacement parts for the air rifles Crosman no longer produces?
Once I get a valve fully working. I'll have to see how much blow by it's producing. I'll be looking for a new 2200 bolt? I now you have a fix for me, buddy!
Thanks Ron

I am uncertain as to when Crosman replaced the brass valve with aluminum,
but it was some time ago.
The aluminum valves seem to hold up OK......
Never seen a plastic valve......but all the poppets are plastic now.
Some repair kits included the al. nose cone as people tend to mess that part up removing it, as you have seen.
When disassembling I hold the nose in a metal lathe with a 5C collet.
Not EZ cuz their ain't much flat surface to grip, but it gets the job done!
As for the O-ring bolt, yeah-I know where one can be had........
