General observations and inquiry - Olympic 10m
BadFishHagDog:
The newer competition format seems to make the sport a bit more engaging for the live audience. Frustratingly, on TV you only see the shots taken by, and scores of, the 1 or 2 shooters on camera. Much of the reaction by the audience is in response to shots you don't see. It would be nice if there were a running score for each competitor along the top, bottom, or sides of the screen so that we at home can track each shot from every shooter in lane order. In addition I have yet to see a close up of any of the targets or equipment at the end of the lanes. We are curious, Olympics people, so show us more!
I notice the female air pistol shooters tend to scrunch their face into their shoulder much more than the male shooters. Can anyone explain why this is?
I have a growing urge to compete in, and have been practicing for, both 10m pistol and FT. As such I have been paying more attention to shooting competitions. Watching the air pistol events the last couple of days has shown me that I am not as bad as I believed. With my AV-46m I can keep the majority of shots within the 7 ring most days, and better some days. How do you compare, and what things most helped you improve?
While I enjoy 10m rifle, my neck does not enjoy turning/tilting my head to the left for extended periods. Sadly I am unable to play violin for the same reason. I dabble in my garage with my Daisy 753, but I will never be a serious 10m rifle shooter.
Having never worn shooting pants and jacket, I never realized just how stiff and supportive they are. You can see it in the competitors walk as they head to their lanes, and especially when they go to sit down after shooting. They literally have to unbutton and unclasp both pants and jacket in order to sit!
I noticed the brand/model numbers are mostly taped over or masked, but not so strictly that everything is blacked out. Does anyone know the reason for this? Is it regulation, or personal shooter choice?
I will add any additional observations and questions here as they come to me. Do you have any? Have you noticed some interesting nuance, a piece of equipment you are curious about, or do you have any comments on the current Olympics? Please share your thoughts and questions about the Olympic airgun sports.

I would like to watch the live competitions, but don't know what channel or times they might be shown.
USA is the only channel that shows Olympic events that I know of. Like right now it's tennis.
Even recorded ones would be fun, but don't know where to find those either.

You Tube is your best bet for watching the competitions. NBC is streaming on YT but you have to down load the Peacock App then find your streaming company on the app, it's like why even bother. I use to love watching the olympics on TV but I am not going to pay for it and plug up my devices with useless memory eating apps.

I probably won't be up for that. :(
